Working at Nexova
What you can expect

Working hours
We work a 42.5-hour week, but there's no fixed schedule — you decide when those hours happen. Being generally available between 10:00 and 16:00 helps with collaboration, but it's a guideline rather than a rule. You also get 5 weeks vacation plus Swiss public holidays.

Remote work
Work from wherever suits you: home, a café, or our Basel office if you want a space to collaborate. After your first six months, working from other countries is possible with your manager's agreement.

Learning & development
We support professional development and can cover costs for courses, certifications, and conferences. What we fund depends on relevance to your role and is subject to agreement with your supervisor.

Equipment & IT
We cover the initial cost of your home setup: laptop, monitors, headset — whatever you need. After that, you get CHF 200 per year for ongoing tech needs, plus unlimited calls and data through our Galaxus Mobile partnership.

You're protected
We offer an above-average pension with one of Switzerland's most reputable funds, comprehensive accident coverage including private hospital ward access, and strong salary continuation during illness.

Team & culture
There's no one constantly looking over your shoulder. You're trusted to manage your own work, with direct and open communication. We support team get-togethers with up to CHF 35 per person for events with four or more colleagues.

FAQ
Answers at a click
What kind of people thrive at Nexova?
People who take ownership. We don't micromanage, which means you need to be self-motivated and accountable. If you deliver results and communicate well, you'll have more freedom here than almost anywhere else in the industry. If you need external structure and oversight to perform, it's probably not the right fit.
Do I need to live in Switzerland?
Yes, you need to be based in Switzerland. During your first six months, we expect you to work from here. After that, short stints abroad or workations can be arranged with your manager's agreement.
Are there set working hours?
Not strictly. You're responsible for a 42.5-hour week (if you're working full time), but you decide when those hours happen. Being generally available between 10:00 and 16:00 helps with team collaboration and client interactions, but it's a guideline rather than a strict requirement. We just ask that you keep your Outlook calendar up to date so colleagues know when you're around.
Is there an office?
Yes, we have a very cool office in Basel. Depending on your role, your onboarding may include some time in the office for training and getting set up, but after that you can work from wherever suits you. You might find you enjoy the space so much you keep coming back to connect with colleagues, but you're also welcome to work from home, a café, or wherever else you like.
What tools and software do you use?
We primarily use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for our accounting work and Notion for team collaboration and documentation. We can share the specifics of our other tools during interviews. Everything is fully digital and cloud-based.
Do you hire career changers?
Yes. What matters most is your willingness to learn and your fit with how we work. If you bring the right attitude and are committed to developing your skills, a non-traditional background isn't a barrier.
How does remote onboarding work?
We take onboarding seriously. You'll receive a full starter kit with all the equipment you need (laptop, monitors, mouse, keyboard, headset), then go through structured training including video guides and software walkthroughs. In your first week, you'll have calls with team members across the company so you get to know people early. Remote doesn't mean being left to figure it out alone.
Do you ever meet in person?
Yes, we have an office in Basel where people can work together if they want, and we support team get-togethers (CHF 35 per person for events with 4+ colleagues). Last year the whole team went on a workation to Colombia. The format varies, but we do make time to connect in person.
What if I want to grow into leadership?
We have clear career progression from Accountant through to Partner, with leadership roles at Team Manager and Senior Manager levels. It's less hierarchical than traditional firms, but there is structure. If you're looking for a big corporate ladder with many rungs, we're not the right fit. If you want real responsibility and a clear path to grow, we might be.
What happens if I make a mistake?
We have an open error culture. Mistakes happen, what matters is how we handle them. We don't look for blame, we look for solutions. Let us know early if something doesn't go as planned and we'll support you.
