The fiduciary industry is changing, but most firms aren’t. Nexova is building the future of Swiss digital accounting services, and we’re looking for people who want to build it with us.

Why Nexova?

We do things differently

Most Swiss fiduciary firms will tell you they’re “flexible” or “digital.” Then you join and discover that flexible means “sometimes you can leave at 4:30,” and digital means “we scan our paper files.”

We take a different approach. Nexova is Switzerland’s first fully remote fiduciary firm, offering accounting, payroll management, company formation, and other related services to startups and SMEs. We’ve been fully digital since day one: no office, no paper files, no legacy systems. Just modern tools, streamlined processes, and a team that works from wherever they work best.

How we started

The story behind Nexova

David knows the industry from both sides, as an employee and as the owner of his own fiduciary firm. What drove him was a conviction: that work and freedom do not have to be opposites.

Seeing the world. Shaping your own day. Working without being tied to a single place. What once seemed unthinkable was meant to become the foundation. A company where freedom and flexibility come first and fiduciary work is consistently reimagined in a digital way.

In 2021, he met Marco in Colombia. They shared the same vision. In 2022, they founded Nexova. Remote first, digital, and flexible, not as an add on, not as a guideline, but as the foundation.

At Nexova, freedom and flexibility are not a marketing promise. They are the core of who we are.

Our Basel office

A place to connect

Working remotely doesn't mean working alone. In Basel, we've created a cool workspace that you can use anytime, whether for a day of focused work or to spend time with colleagues.

The office is located directly opposite Basel SBB station, with views of the iconic clocks and the station square. Step off the train, cross the street, and you're there. Large windows fill the space with natural light. Inside, you'll find everything you need: height-adjustable desks, monitors, a coffee machine, a kitchen with a lunch table, and a lounge with purple Nexova couches.

The atmosphere feels different from a traditional office. No one is there because they have to be. Everyone comes voluntarily and leaves when it suits them. That creates energy, focus, collaboration, and new ideas.

What we offer

Work from anywhere

Satisfied employees are more productive. Work from wherever you feel best; the beach, the mountains, or our Basel office.

Flexible hours

No fixed start or end times. Combine family, hobbies, and work in a way that suits you.

We invest in your growth

Continuous learning matters. We cover the costs of training, courses, and certifications.

Interesting clients

Our clients are startups and SMEs with exciting ideas, ready to grow. We help them get there.

Fully digital

We work completely digitally without paperwork. Structured processes, modern tools, no legacy systems.

What we expect

Manage your own time

No one’s going to chase you. You’re responsible for meeting your commitments and organising your workload.

Communicate proactively

If something’s not going to plan, say so early. We’d rather hear about problems before they become urgent.

Take ownership

Think beyond your task list. If you see something that could be better, raise it or fix it.

Maintain high standards

The freedom we offer depends on everyone delivering quality work, efficiently and consistently.

Keep learning

We invest in your development, and we trust you to make the most of it. Stay curious, build your skills, and keep getting better at what you do.

Freedom means responsibility

Built on trust, not control

Many other fiduciary firms claim to be flexible but there’s usually a caveat. With us, it’s real.

There’s no requirement to come into an office, though we have one in Basel if you want it. No fixed working hours either, but being generally available between 10:00 and 16:00 helps with collaboration. You should be based in Switzerland for your first six months; after that, working abroad is possible with your manager’s agreement.

The freedom we offer works because we hire people who don’t need to be managed. We trust you to structure your own day, manage your own workload, and deliver results. In return, we expect you to act like an owner, not like someone counting down the hours. If you want to coast, this isn’t the place. If you want to learn, grow, and stay ahead, it might be.

Cutting-edge digital

Future-proof your career at Nexova

The fiduciary industry runs on legacy systems and manual processes. We don’t.

At Nexova, you’ll work with modern tools, automated workflows, and digital-first processes that most traditional firms won’t adopt for another decade. You’ll learn approaches shaping the future of the industry, not just how it worked twenty years ago.

We offer competitive salaries and invest in your development. We don’t have a big corporate ladder, but what we offer is the chance to stay ahead. When you leave Nexova — whether that’s in two years or ten — you’ll have skills that put you years ahead of peers in traditional environments.

What our team says

In their own words

Yanir Kroter, Client Advisor

"What I value most about Nexova is the combination of career prospects and genuine team spirit. When I joined, I was presented with real development opportunities, and I'm still pursuing them today.

The friendships we've formed here are real. There's strong collaboration and exchange, both among the client managers and with the management team. People actually support each other and want to see each other succeed. It doesn't feel like everyone is just doing their own thing in isolation.

The work itself is varied and keeps me engaged. No two days are exactly the same, and I'm always learning something.

For anyone thinking about joining: bring motivation and a willingness to learn. Nexova gives you real opportunities to grow, but you have to be ready to take initiative. If you are, it's a great place to build your career."

Timotheus Gerber, Customer Success Manager

"What immediately stood out to me at Nexova is the open culture and the people — genuinely friendly, collaborative, and easy to connect with. That sets the tone for everything else.

My role is complex and challenging, exactly what I was looking for. Getting to know our clients and understanding their business ideas is endlessly interesting. Because customer success connects many parts of the business, I gain broad visibility and collaborate closely across teams, which I really enjoy.

I value being able to shape our processes and take real ownership. The learning curve? Less mountain hike, more rocket launch — steep, fast, and exhilarating.

If you're considering joining, bring a strong sense of responsibility and the drive to act proactively. If that excites you, you'll thrive."

Julian Bloch, Accountant

"I wanted a role that would give me more flexibility and work-life balance, and Nexova has undoubtedly delivered on that. I love to travel, so the freedom to structure my own schedule, work from different locations, and even take a few workations has been great.

What I've really come to value most though is how much direct contact I have with leadership. David is always open to discussing things, giving feedback, and answering questions, without it ever feeling like micromanagement. There's a real sense of trust. I'm given space to get on with my work in my own way, and my perspective is genuinely valued.

The rest of the team has a great attitude too. People actually want to help each other and see the company do well, not just clock in and collect a paycheck. It's collaborative rather than competitive, which is refreshing after working in places where everyone is just looking out for themselves.

I also really enjoy the clients we work with — mostly startups and SMEs doing interesting things. It feels like we're part of helping innovation thrive in Switzerland, not just processing paperwork for large corporates."

André Schumacher, Recruiting Manager

"What I really appreciate about working at Nexova is the drive and clarity of the founders. I work very closely with David, and you can clearly feel how much care, detail, and genuine responsibility he puts into the company. This shows not only in the way processes are built, but especially in how much thought he gives to the people working here.

At the same time, there is a strong focus on the client side. A lot of attention is put into creating a truly positive customer experience, which is also reflected in the consistently strong Google reviews. The company is structured in a way where customers benefit, employees feel valued, and the business itself can grow sustainably.

For me, Nexova feels like a win-win-win setup. It's not a company built purely around profit, but one that aims for long-term quality, trust, and development. I also highly value the open-minded and constantly learning mindset of the founder — something that clearly shapes the culture and is reflected in the people you work with every day."

FAQ

Answers at a click

What kind of people thrive at Nexova?

People who take ownership. We don't micromanage, which means you need to be self-motivated and accountable. If you deliver results and communicate well, you'll have more freedom here than almost anywhere else in the industry. If you need external structure and oversight to perform, it's probably not the right fit.

Do I need to live in Switzerland?

Yes, you need to be based in Switzerland. During your first six months, we expect you to work from here. After that, short stints abroad or workations can be arranged with your manager's agreement.

Are there set working hours?

Not strictly. You're responsible for a 42.5-hour week (if you're working full time), but you decide when those hours happen. Being generally available between 10:00 and 16:00 helps with team collaboration and client interactions, but it's a guideline rather than a strict requirement. We just ask that you keep your Outlook calendar up to date so colleagues know when you're around.

Is there an office?

Yes, we have a very cool office in Basel. Depending on your role, your onboarding may include some time in the office for training and getting set up, but after that you can work from wherever suits you. You might find you enjoy the space so much you keep coming back to connect with colleagues, but you're also welcome to work from home, a café, or wherever else you like.

What tools and software do you use?

We primarily use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for our accounting work and Notion for team collaboration and documentation. We can share the specifics of our other tools during interviews. Everything is fully digital and cloud-based.

Do you hire career changers?

Yes. What matters most is your willingness to learn and your fit with how we work. If you bring the right attitude and are committed to developing your skills, a non-traditional background isn't a barrier.

How does remote onboarding work?

We take onboarding seriously. You'll receive a full starter kit with all the equipment you need (laptop, monitors, mouse, keyboard, headset), then go through structured training including video guides and software walkthroughs. In your first week, you'll have calls with team members across the company so you get to know people early. Remote doesn't mean being left to figure it out alone.

Do you ever meet in person?

Yes, we have an office in Basel where people can work together if they want, and we support team get-togethers (CHF 35 per person for events with 4+ colleagues). Last year the whole team went on a workation to Colombia. The format varies, but we do make time to connect in person.

What if I want to grow into leadership?

We have clear career progression from Accountant through to Partner, with leadership roles at Team Manager and Senior Manager levels. It's less hierarchical than traditional firms, but there is structure. If you're looking for a big corporate ladder with many rungs, we're not the right fit. If you want real responsibility and a clear path to grow, we might be.

What happens if I make a mistake?

We have an open error culture. Mistakes happen, what matters is how we handle them. We don't look for blame, we look for solutions. Let us know early if something doesn't go as planned and we'll support you.
